Emily joined TV Edwards as a Paralegal in the Crime department in October 2024. She supports Nathaniel Gadsby and Georgia Patterson with their Crime and Licensing work. Emily has also commenced the Police Station Accreditation scheme to become an accredited police station representative providing advice and assistance to people interviewed under caution.
Emily has enjoyed several court experiences, including three mini-pupillages at 5KBW, 5 Paper Buildings, and Mountford; a Coroner’s Inquest; and shadowing a number of barristers informally.
Having spent two months in a migrant camp in Calais, Emily developed an interest in the intersection between domestic law, ECHr, and migration. Having worked two days a week as a Paralegal in an immigration team working on legal aid Article 3 and Article 8 cases, she developed her understanding of the asylum process in the United Kingdom. Emily became an Appropriate Adult during her BTC and worked with young and vulnerable persons in police stations in central London. It is the intersection between international relations and crime that particularly interests me, and she looks forward to developing her knowledge of the latter as a Paralegal at TV Edwards.
