We are pleased to announce the appointment of Sarah Inchley as Head of our Family Law practice, effective 1 April 2026.
Sarah succeeds Paul Read, who has made the decision to retire from legal practice. Paul joined TV Edwards in December 2022 as a Senior Associate and went on to lead the Family department, with particular responsibility for the Family Finance team. We thank Paul for his dedication and contribution during his time with the firm and wish him every success in the future.
Expertise and Experience
A Partner at TV Edward since February 2024, Sarah takes on leadership of a leading, full-service Family Law practice which is consistently recognised by Chambers and The Legal 500.
With a background in education law, Sarah has practised exclusively in children law for the past 17 years. She brings extensive experience across public, private, and international cross border children cases. A former children panel member, she has also been accredited by Resolution in private children law and child abduction since 2015.
Sarah is widely recognised for her expertise in international children law. She is a founding member of the Child Abduction Lawyers’ Association and volunteers as an advocate on CALA ‘s pro bono High Court duty scheme, supporting parents acting in person in child abduction cases. She also maintains close links with leading charities, Reunite and GlobalARRK.
Sarah was promoted to a Member Partner of the LLP in April 2025.
Our Family Law Team
Our Family Law team is widely respected for its work with high-net-worth and international clients, while remaining firmly committed to social justice and legal aid for the most vulnerable members of society. The team is one of the largest in the UK, comprising 23 specialist lawyers, including two partners and four senior consultants, supported by a strong cohort of eight trainees and paralegals and one professional support member.
The department provides expert legal advice across the full spectrum of family law, including public and private children law, divorce, complex financial matters, domestic abuse, forced marriage, FGM, child abduction, adoption, surrogacy, and modern family issues.
The practice continues to be recognised for excellence, most recently winning Children’s Law Team of the Year at the LexisNexis Family Law Awards 2025 – read here. Looking Ahead
As part of our ongoing growth, we continue to invest in top talent. Alia Lewis joined the firm in August 2025 as Partner and Head of Public Law Children and will report directly to Sarah. Recruitment is also underway for a new Head of the Family Divorce and Finance team, who will likewise report to Sarah.
