Members of the TV Edwards team have been going above and beyond to raise money for the firm’s chosen charity, Haven House, taking on two challenges in September to support its important work with children and families.
Haven House is a children’s hospice charity supporting babies, children and young people with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions across North and East London and Essex. It provides specialist care for children, alongside practical, emotional and bereavement support for their families. This support helps families navigate exceptionally difficult circumstances and make the most of their time together.
Taking the Plunge: Charity Skydive
On 19 and 26 September, Harriet Sampson, Hannah Riley, Megan Gregory, Fauzia Mumani and Abigail Williams took to the skies in Peterborough for a charity skydive, stepping outside their comfort zones to raise money for Haven House. The challenge called for courage and determination, with each participant taking on an unforgettable experience in support of the charity.
Together, they raised an impressive £3,804, including a generous £1,000 donation from a single supporter.
Going the Distance at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park
On 24 September, Jamie Callaghan, Maya Jordan-Shah and Tracy Turner took on a different challenge, completing a 10km run at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in London. Their efforts raised a further £775, surpassing their fundraising target of £750.
Combined, the two September challenges raised an incredible £4,579 for Haven House, demonstrating the team’s enthusiasm and commitment to supporting the charity.
Making a Difference in Our Local Community
Fundraising for Haven House continues throughout the year, with activities including five-a-side football tournaments and bake sales, as well as opportunities to volunteer in gardening and retail. Earlier this year, Rose Brooks also organised a raffle at the firm’s AGM, raising a further £820 for the charity.
At TV Edwards, our commitment to the local community extends beyond fundraising. Through pro bono legal work, community sponsorships and volunteering initiatives, we strive to make a positive and lasting difference to the people and organisations around us.
We believe that being a trusted local law firm means more than providing expert legal advice. It means building strong community relationships, supporting worthwhile causes and contributing to a more connected and inclusive community.
Thank You to Everyone Involved
A huge well done to Abigail, Harriet, Hannah, Megan, Fauzia, Jamie, Maya and Tracy for taking part in these challenges, and a heartfelt thank you to everyone who donated or supported the fundraising efforts.
The generosity, teamwork and determination shown by colleagues and supporters will help Haven House continue providing essential care and support to children and families when they need it most. We are proud to support such an important local charity and look forward to continuing our fundraising efforts.
