We are delighted that many of our departments have featured once again in this year’s Chambers and Partners legal directory

Our Family team is ranked in Band 1 in the category of Children: Public Law Matters. We are noted for offering services across a wide range of family issues including nuptial agreements, ancillary relief and private law children proceedings. The team is recognised for its particular strength in public law care work, with deep expertise in abuse and adoption cases.

Referees have said that our “commitment to clients and attention to detail [is] second to none”, and that we are “always very knowledgeable and efficient. [We] have a very good understanding of the complex issues in care proceedings”.

Joint Head of the Family Department, Hannah Perry, is ranked in Band 1 of individual lawyers

Hannah is noted to have an “encyclopaedic knowledge of the work, not just of the case law but the practicalities of what her clients need”.

Consultant solicitor Deborah Piccos is ranked in Band 2

The Social Welfare team maintains its ranking in Band 2 for our Social Housing work for tenants

We are noted for representing clients in a broad range of housing litigation including for unlawful eviction, possession proceedings and disrepair. Referees have said that “everyone at the firm has been really excellent and committed”.

Joint Heads of Department, Jacky Starling and Katie Brown, continue to be ranked as individual lawyers, and Jenny Mansell is noted as an associate to watch.

The directory notes that “Katie Brown is genuinely fantastic. She is incredibly diligent, really good at working with vulnerable clients, and provides really effective advice”.

Our Criminal department is ranked in Band 3

The team is noted to be well equipped to advise on matters involving organised crime activity, including drugs supply and trafficking. We are recognised for handling a wide array of complex and serious cases.

Referees have said that our solicitors are “excellent and prepare their cares well in addition to having excellent rapport with their clients.”

Partner Mark Ashford is ranked in Band 2 of individual lawyers

The directory notes that “Mark is proactive, tenacious, highly analytical, and works incredibly hard to master complex matters.”

Head of Department Adrienne Wright is ranked in Band 3

Referees said that Adrienne is an “excellent strategist who knows her law back to front. She is tireless and really committed to her clients”.
