Juanita qualified as a solicitor in April 2013 and specialises in family law matters concerning children. She is an accredited member of the Law Society’s Children Panel.
Juanita’s practice focuses on representing parents and children in public law proceedings. She has experience in working on particularly complex matters such as non-accidental injury cases and cases involving issues around substance and alcohol misuse, domestic abuse and mental health.
Juanita also represents parents and children in disputes around child arrangements including cases involving domestic abuse allegations and fact finding hearings. Juanita has experience in international children matters including abduction and relocation.
Juanita regularly undertakes advocacy, representing parents and children at family courts.
Notable Cases
- A (A Child) [2018] EWCA Civ 2240 (16 October 2018) – acted for the child through their Children’s Guardian in respect of an appeal relating to a Special Guardianship Order being made in favour of the child’s foster carer instead of family members residing in Ghana.
- Re H (Abduction: Retention in Non-Contracting State) [2019] EWCA Civ 672 – acted for the appellant in respect of an appeal against a Return Order.
