Head of Private Client
TV Edwards is a well established law firm seeking an ambitious and experienced Solicitor to lead and develop our growing Probate Department. This is a position ideal for a Solicitor with proven technical expertise and a commercial mindset who is passionate about building and managing a successful team.
Currently comprising two solicitors, the department is primed for expansion, and we are looking for someone with the drive and vision to take it to the next level. You will manage a caseload of complex matters while overseeing the team’s development, providing strategic direction, and ensuring the highest standards of client care.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Departmental Leadership:
- Provide strategic leadership to the Probate Department and also develop the Court of Protection services
- Mentor and supervise junior solicitors and support staff
- Develop and implement a business plan for department growth
- Contribute to the firm’s wider business development and marketing initiatives
Legal Work:
- Manage a full caseload of probate, estate administration, wills, trusts and Court of Protection matters
- Advise on complex estates, tax planning and deputyship applications
- Represent clients in contentious probate and deputyship matters where necessary
Client Management:
- Maintain and build strong client relationships
- Ensure excellent standards of client service and regulatory compliance
Business Development:
- Identify and pursue opportunities to grow the department’s client base
- Network with referrers and represent the firm at events
Qualification & Experience
- Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales) with 8+ years PQE in probate, estate administration, and Court of Protection work
- Proven experience in managing a team or department
- STEP qualification (preferred) or working towards it
- Experience in contentious probate matters
