Simon qualified as a solicitor in September 2024. He carries out a range of housing work including defending possession claims brought for rent arrears, sub-letting, anti-social behaviour and succession issues. He also represents tenants in poor housing conditions claims.
Simon joined the firm as a Paralegal in January 2022, becoming a trainee solicitor in September 2022. During his training contract, Simon worked in the Social Welfare team on housing, community care and Court of Protection cases and also the Dispute Resolution team. Simon has successfully achieved positive outcomes for clients which have included preventing homelessness and eviction for clients with significant rent arrears.
Before joining TV Edwards LLP, Simon worked as a Money Adviser for a Local Authority where he gained accreditation. During this time he helped clients with significant rent arrears and benefits issues to try and manage their debts whilst prioritising the importance of clients keeping their home.
Simon’s interest in benefits and housing began when he volunteered for Citizens’ Advice where he successfully represented clients at the First-Tier Tribunal (Social Entitlement Chamber) to challenge refusals of Personal Independence Payments.
Simon completed his Graduate Diploma in Law in 2020 and his Legal Practice Course, with a distinction, in 2022.
