We are delighted to confirm that we have two new promotions to Senior Associate in the Crime and Social Welfare teams. These latest promotions reinforce our commitment to develop talent within the firm and invest in our people.
This has been recognised in our recent success in The Sunday Times Best Places to Work 2024 listing. Our listing in the Sunday Times quotes: “At this London law firm a low turnover of staff is partly thanks to the empathy ingrained in the business, with its longstanding commitment to social justice. The success of its development programme can be demonstrated by the fact that existing staff have been promoted to associate, senior associate and partner roles.”
Adam Shaw
Adam joined TV Edwards as a Paralegal in 2011 and qualified as a solicitor in 2014. Adam is a true example of “home grown” talent and a model of how one can develop into a committed, knowledgeable, financially aware and technically gifted professional.
Adam is a tenacious and persuasive advocate and is well known and respected amongst the London Courts for criminal law. He has meticulous case preparation skills and leaves no stone unturned when preparing for trials. He receives excellent client feedback for his successes working on complex cases and has been recognised in The Legal 500 legal directory as being a standout person, a cut above the rest and a noticeable talent amongst his peers.
He is a significant asset to the Crime team, in areas such as mentoring and training new members of staff, management of court diaries, new enquiries, file reviews, audits and all areas of business development.
Nilufer Ozdemir
Nilufer qualified as a solicitor in 2017 and advises clients on all aspects of Court of Protection and Community Care matters. Nilufer is dedicated to working with vulnerable clients and their families, helping them to achieve their objectives in the most smooth and efficient way possible. As an accredited member of the Law Society Mental Capacity (Welfare) Panel, Nilufer has experience acting as an accredited legal representative in welfare matters for persons who lack capacity to conduct the proceedings.
Nilufer plays a key role in the success of the Social Welfare department, always highly supportive of Partner Katie Brown and our other Senior Associate Jenny Mansell.
She has shown herself to be an excellent supervisor to new lawyers, training paralegals to a very high level and enabling them to exceed targets whilst also exceeding her own. She provides excellent peer support to other colleagues who appreciate her input on strategy and other casework matters.
Managing Partner Julian Overton says: “I am proud of these well-deserved promotions that recognise talent, hard work and dedication. Our clients and people continue to be at the heart of our success, and my focus is in developing our talent to have the right team in place so that we can deliver an exceptional client experience and fulfil our business growth ambitions.”
