About Katie
Katie is a Paralegal in the Family Department, where she assists Alia Lewis on a range of public law children matters.
Katie has nearly three years’ experience in family law, supporting on cases involving care proceedings, deprivation of liberties, child arrangements, and domestic abuse injunctions. She has worked on a wide variety of complex and sensitive matters, including cases concerning non-accidental Injury, female genital mutilation (FGM), sexual abuse, and drug and alcohol misuse.
While attending university, Katie volunteered with a domestic abuse charity, The Daisy Chain Project in Worthing, West Sussex, where she worked directly with survivors of abuse in obtaining non‑molestation orders providing practical assistance in an emotionally intelligent and trauma informed way.
Katie has a particular interest in supporting clients who are neurodivergent and those who have additional needs. This stems from personal experience and means that Katie is able to provide a genuinely insightful, empathetic and tailored approach to the client she works with.
As a neurodivergent individual who grew up alongside an autistic sibling, Katie brings both personal insight and professional dedication to supporting those with additional needs. She approaches each matter with empathy, care, and a strong commitment to achieving the best outcome for her clients.
