Amanda Mhlanga is a solicitor in the Family Children team. She qualified in September 2024 having joined TV Edwards in August 2021 as a Paralegal. She supports clients with public and private law children matters. She has previously represented vulnerable clients, such as those with learning disabilities or mental health difficulties.
Amanda also works with Anest Mathias assisting with her modern family work, she has recently worked on a reported case regarding a declaration of parentage. She has worked on cases which have cross jurisdictional elements.
After graduating with a 2:1 in 2017 from the University of Northampton, Amanda undertook the Legal Practice Course with an LLM in Professional Legal Practice at the University of Law in 2018.
Notable cases
- Assisting on P v Q & Ors [2024] EWFC 85 (B) – a reported case concerning an application for a declaration of parentage where there was a question as to how the provisions of sections 34 and 42 HFEA 2008 apply (if at all) in circumstances where there is a dispute as to whether the child was conceived via artificial insemination or natural insemination, whilst the biological mother was married to her wife.
