We are bidding a heartfelt farewell to our Senior Partner, Jacky Starling, whose final working day will be Friday 30 May 2025. After nearly 32 years with TV Edwards, Jacky is retiring, leaving behind an extraordinary legacy that has shaped the firm and the lives of so many of our clients.
Jacky joined TV Edwards as a Trainee in 1993, appointed by then Senior Partner Anthony Edwards. She has remained with the firm ever since. For the past decade, Jacky has led the firm as Senior Partner, continuing to champion the values and mission that brought her here more than three decades ago.
Throughout her career, Jacky has made an indelible impact as a social welfare solicitor. Specialising in housing and benefits, she has fought tirelessly for those in need – preventing evictions, holding landlords to account, securing housing for the homeless, and ensuring clients receive the benefits and compensation they deserve. She has also supported many in managing their finances and protecting their assets through trusts. The importance of her work cannot be overstated – Jacky has quite literally changed lives, and in some cases, saved them.
As head of our Housing and Social Welfare Department, Jacky has built and led a dedicated team of lawyers committed to delivering justice and providing high-quality legal services to vulnerable individuals. Her leadership, compassion, and unwavering integrity have set the standard for all of us.
Jacky’s contribution to TV Edwards has been nothing short of remarkable. Her dedication, wisdom, and steady guidance have been a constant source of strength for the firm. It has been a true privilege to work alongside her, and we are deeply grateful for the decades of service she has given.
With her departure, we also welcome a new chapter. From 8 April 2025, Katie Brown, Juanita Francis, Adam Haffenden, Sarah Inchley, Paul Read and Adrienne Wright have joined the LLP as Member Partners, alongside Julian Overton, Felix Couchman and Mark Ashford. While we are saddened to see Jacky go, we are also excited for what lies ahead and confident in the strong leadership of our Member Partners.
Managing Partner Julian Overton says: “Jacky is one of the most caring, generous, and principled people we have had the honour of working with. She has been our moral compass, always composed – even in the most challenging of times – and meticulous in every detail. Her legacy will continue to inspire and guide us for years to come.”
Thank you, Jacky, for everything you have done for us and for the firm. We will miss your wise counsel and kind presence dearly.
On behalf of everyone at TV Edwards, we wish you a joyful, adventurous and richly deserved retirement.
