Niamh joined TV Edwards LLP as a paralegal in January 2023. She is a trainee solicitor in the social welfare team and assists solicitors Amanda Ford, Emily Black and Alma Shams with their housing work including possession cases, homeless applications and poor housing conditions claims.
Graduating with a 2:1 in History from University of Southampton in 2020, Niamh aspired to pursue a career in law, particularly social welfare law. She went on to study the GDL and the LPC in 2021 and 2022 respectively, gaining a Distinction in both. Niamh volunteered at Citizen’s Advice whilst working toward these qualifications, which cemented her interest in working to provide justice for people in local communities and helping people to navigate the complexities of the law.
Upon finishing the LPC, Niamh undertook a mediation course which built upon her skills and confirmed that she wanted to help people to navigate conflict situations. Niamh is a PDSL, CIArb, CMC and IMI qualified mediator. Continuing in her work at Citizen’s Advice allowed Niamh to realise the importance of access to the law for people suffering from inadequate housing.
