Niamh’s first seat was in housing and her second seat was in family. Niamh’s third seat was in Court of Protection and Public Law work. Niamh is now in the final seat of her training contract and working on Housing, Court of Protection and Public Law cases under the supervision of Katie Brown and Jenny Mansell.
Graduating with a 2:1 in History from University of Southampton in 2020, Niamh aspired to pursue a career in law, particularly social welfare law. She went on to study the GDL and the LPC in 2021 and 2022 respectively, gaining a Distinction in both. Niamh volunteered at Citizen’s Advice whilst working toward these qualifications, which cemented her interest in working to provide justice for people in local communities and helping people to navigate the complexities of the law.
Upon finishing the LPC, Niamh undertook a mediation course which built upon her skills and confirmed that she wanted to help people to navigate conflict situations. Niamh is a PDSL, CIArb, CMC and IMI qualified mediator. Continuing in her work at Citizen’s Advice allowed Niamh to realise the importance of access to the law for people suffering from inadequate housing and support from Local Authorities.

The experience I encountered with Amanda Ford and Niamh was just fantastic. I was going through an overwhelming situation of eviction and sought help to resolve the arrears which were increasing and working out all details.
Very helpful both Emily and Niamh. Excellent communication and made sure the correct steps were taken through out the whole journey. Can’t thank you enough.
