About Jitender
Representation of children either directly or through their children’s Guardian in all Public Law care matters including Care and Supervision order proceedings, deprivation of Liberty matters and secure accommodation cases
Jitender has been a children panel member for over 20 years as well as a member of the Association of Lawyers for Children. She undertake her own Advocacy
In the recent years focused my practice on the representation of children in care and private law proceedings. She has experience of representing parents and family members in private and public law as well as children and have also previously spent 8 years working in a local authority which gave me an insight into the processes and procedures.
She has experience in complex proceedings, including non-accidental injury, sexual abuse and deprivation of liberty cases and have undertaken advocacy at all levels of court. She often directly represent older competent children to ensure their voices are heard and their interests represented in court in secure accommodation applications, as well as deprivation of liberty.
Her interest in child protection and child care law came from having worked as a paralegal for three years in the family department of a solicitors firm prior to completing my Legal Practice course and then working in a Local Authority child care team
