Jamie is a Solicitor in the Social Welfare department at TV Edwards. He qualified as a Solicitor in August 2025 via the SQE route having joined the firm as a Paralegal in July 2023. As a Trainee Solicitor, Jamie worked under the supervision of Associates Shaun Livingston and Emily Black on their community care, Court of Protection and housing work.
Jamie undertakes a mixture of housing, community care and Court of Protection work. He represents tenants defending possession proceedings brought due to rent arrears, alleged anti-social behaviour, and other breaches of tenancy. In the context of community care, Jamie assists vulnerable clients with challenges under the Care Act and Children Act, often in circumstances where support is urgently needed. Jamie also represents protected persons (“P”) in the Court of Protection in matters relating to P’s welfare, deprivation of liberty, and best interest decisions. As a Trainee Solicitor Jamie had a strong track record of successfully securing positive outcomes for his clients in all these areas.
Jamie graduated in 2011 with a 2:1 from the University of Manchester in Politics and Philosophy, and subsequently completed an MA (with Merit) in Political Theory in 2012.
Before joining TV Edwards, Jamie interned for five months at Hackney Community Law Centre and before this, Jamie worked as a Business Director at one of the UK’s leading media agencies. Jamie’s motivation for working in Social Welfare law comes from a desire to help promote access to justice for people facing challenging circumstances, particularly those on lower incomes or in vulnerable positions.
Awards
During his advertising career, Jamie won and was shortlisted for several industry awards, including being featured in Campaign Magazine’s ‘30 under 30’, and a finalist for MediaWeek’s ‘Rising Star’.
